Transition of Clubs

There has been a seamless transition of Print [works] Weston CIC’s community groups since they shut earlier in the year and Codename Octopus have taken over the management of these groups.

Thanks to a small transition group of Print Club members, Print Club lives on. ‘For the members, by the members’ is the new Print Club mantra. With sessions being led by individuals on a rotation basis, there is something different offered every month for members to participate in.
Our first club was run by our member, Togs, who guided us through making gratitude cards. Combining stamping, collage, painting and mark making to create a set of positive gratitude cards to take home. A wonderfully relaxed and creative way to meet up again after our summer break. It was fab to meet up again and catch up! We still meet up on the last Thursday of the month (except December) at Locking Village Hall, 6pm – 8pm. The cost is £10 a session.

The TLC (Tuesday Lino Club) legacy lives on at The Lympsham Pavilion. It has attracted lots of new members who have discovered the attraction of relief printing and continues to be a valuable community activity. This is not a taught session but more of a ‘learn from each other’ club. The idea is that it gets people together to enjoy some company while carving out their blocks and printing. The purchase of a drink and the wonderful cake is very much encouraged to support this wonderful venue.

So these community clubs that were created to bring people together live on in the wonderful people that were bought together by a mutual enjoyment of print. How beautiful is that?
